atvise builder launcher

The atvise builder launcher (atlauncher.exe) determines the version number of a running ativse server and automatically starts the corresponding atvise builder.

Hint

This application supports all atvise versions starting from 3.0.x.

Requirements

  • The following libraries are necessary in the same folder as the atlauncher.exe application:

    • iconv.dll

    • libxml2.dll

    • Qt5Core.dll

    • Qt5Gui.dll

    • Qt5Widgets.dll

    • plugins/platforms/qwindows.dll

    • plugins/styles/qwindowsvistastyle.dll (optional for more modern Qt dialogs)

  • There must be a separate folder that contains the corresponding builder for every version (see Configuration section).

Hint

Extract the respective atvise setup file to obtain the atbuilder.exe as well as all other necessary files.

Configuration

The configuration file atlauncher.ini must be created in the same folder as the atlauncher.exe application. The paths to the respective builder versions must be configured in this file. If no configuration file or no matching builder version can be found, the atvise builder launcher will be terminated.

Following sections and entries can be defined in the configuration file:

[paths]

default = <path>

Defines a default directory, in which the matching builder version is searched for after determining the server version. In this folder, a specific folder named <major>.<minor>.<patch> must exist for every version.

E.g.: default = versions:

../_images/paths.png
<version number> = <path>

The path for the builder must be defined as follows: <major>.<minor>.<patch> = <path>. If there is an entry for a specific version, the default parameter is overridden for this version.

Hint

  • It is possible to use relative paths or environment variables, e.g. in order to start the atvise builder launcher from a thumb drive.

[builder]

forwardLogin = true/false

This entry defines if the checkbox for forwarding login data is set (refer to forward login checkbox) for further information.

Example configuration file:

[paths]
default = .\versions
3.7.1 = %PROGRAMFILES%\atvise

[builder]
forwardLogin = true

Execution

The atvise builder launcher determines the version number of the running atvise server (default address: opc.tcp://127.0.0.1:4840) and looks for a matching atvise builder at the defined paths.

Hint

  • Use the start parameter "-serverURL <URL>" to define a specific server address. It is also possible to pass the username and password. In this case no additional login is necessary afterwards. E.g.: atlauncher.exe -serverURL opc.tcp://user:password@127.0.0.1:4840

  • The parameter "-debug" displays status messages, determined version number, path, etc.

../_images/atlauncher.png

If projects of atvise versions < 3.6 are protected by node requireLogin = true, the user credentials must be entered in the following dialog. Otherwise, the server version cannot be read.

../_images/forwardlogin.png

If the forwardLogin checkbox is set, the user credentials are forwarded to the builder. Thus, no additional login is necessary when starting the builder. This option can also be set by the forwardLogin entry in the configuration file.

Attention

When forwarding user credentials with "-serverURL" or forwardLogin, the data is transmitted in clear text with the server address (e.g. opc.tcp://root:passwort@127.0.0.1:4840) and can be inspected e.g. via task manager.
